Summary:  The conference provided an opportunity for the Department of Commerce, BIS, the Department of State, DDTC, the Department of Treasury, OFAC, and other government agencies to engage the university community on the export control issues that specifically affect universities, clinical research centers, and other nonprofit research institutions.  It also gave export compliance staff from academic research institutions the opportunity to network and share knowledge and practices for managing export controls.
